Students with a disability or chronic illness

Special needs of PROMOS scholarship holders with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses:

Students with disabilities or chronic illnesses can apply for additional assistance (Beihilfe). If required, please contact Ms. Obert before applying: susanne.obert@zv.uni-freiburg.de

A maximum of 10,000 euros can be granted for a period of up to six months to cover additional expenses (including expenses for an accompanying person).

To measure the additional expenses (e.g. for the trip abroad, local travel, accommodation abroad, medical care, special didactic material, etc.), the expenses for a non-disabled or non-chronically ill person are compared with the expenses for a disabled or chronically ill person. They can only be claimed if they are not covered by any other authority.

Target group: Persons with a degree of disability (GdB) of at least 50 or a chronic illness who participate in a mobility measure as part of the project funding.

Application: Please contact Ms. Obert BEFORE applying for the scholarship and at least 3 months before departure to discuss the details.

The following attachments must be included with the application:

- Refusal of coverage by your health insurance or supplemental insurance
- For persons with a disabiity: Copy of disability ID card
- For persons with a chronic illness: Medical certificate with description of medical requirements
- Further documents explaining the necessity and appropriateness of the increased expenses

Applications for assistance for mobility measures that have already been started cannot be considered.
