Semesters abroad (3 - 6 months)

Self-organized free mover semesters abroad outside the ERASMUS+ area and Switzerland, duration according to the lecture and exam periods at the host university (3 – 6 months).

Target group:

This call for applications is directed at degree-seeking students studying at the University of Freiburg who will study as a "free mover" at a university abroad (except ERASMUS+ area and Switzerland and in case of a travel alert for the destination country*) for one semester. 'Free mover' means applying independently of any University of Freiburg exchange programmes, university, institutional or departmental partnership. The stay is organized independently. Checklist: Required application documents

* Semesters abroad in ERASMUS+ programme countries cannot be funded, even though you might not fulfill the criteria for an ERASMUS+ application. This includes semesters abroad in ERASMUS+ programme countries and in their overseas territories, EWR countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), in Turkey and Macedonia, as well as in other EU accession countries depending on the current situation. Furthermore, stays in Switzerland are generally not eligible for PROMOS funding at the University of Freiburg. In the event of a travel warning for the destination country, funding would also not be possible.
