What is the Welcome Day?

The conditions of study at the University of Freiburg will be entirely new for you. In addition, you will be studying in an unfamiliar environment. In order to prepare you for your studies and your life in Freiburg, the International Office organizes an introduction day with a lot of information from different areas of student life in Freiburg. If you are unable to attend on that day or you would like to review the information, you can find some videos here on the website. We strongly recommend that you attend the Welcome Day or alternatively watch all the videos. We are sure that the many different items on the agenda will contribute positively to your study success and make it easier for you to settle in Freiburg.

Welcome Day for all international students

The Welcome Days for the winter semester are split in two events: First, a virtual zoom session on October 4 from 10:00am – 12:15pm in which different entities from the university share useful information. The respective information to register for the event has already been shared via mobility. Second, a physical fair and Welcome Dinner: Friday, October 11, starting at 5:00pm in Mensa Rempartstraße in Freiburg. This will give you the opportunity to make new contacts if you are already in Freiburg and still receive important information about studying in Freiburg if you are not there yet. Both events will provide a helpful introduction to life in Freiburg and studying at the university.
